Wat Chomsi Stupa. Wat Sene.

Reclining Buddha. Wat Tham Phu Si.

Mount Phou Si

Mount Phou Si is a 100m high hill in the centre of the old town of Luang Prabang, It lies in the heart of the old town peninsula and is bordered on one side by the Mekong River and on the other side by the Nam Khan River. The hill is a local religious site, and houses several Buddhist shrines.

Halfway up the hill, overlooking the Nam Khan is Wat Tham Phou Si, a Buddhist temple. At the summit of the hill, overlooking the town and surrounding countryside, is Wat Chom Si, another Buddhist temple and is a tourist highlight of Luang Prabang.

From the top of Mount Phou Si you have an amazing 306 degree view of the city. In the foreground you will see the National Museum and roofs of the many Buddhist temples. In the distance, the Mekong and Khan rivers are set against the dramatic mountain backdrop.

On the sacred mountain of Luang Prabang.
This is the temple of Luang Prabang that is amazingly decorated. Both the exterior and interior part of the temple is crafted with red and black lacquer style and gold leaf. The name Wat Mai refers to New Temple. This stunning temple was founded in the year 1780. This is located beside the Royal Palace of Luang Prabang and is said to be used by the Royalty. The amazing feature makes it different from other temples of Luang Prabang.
Sunset from the mountain.
The reclining Buddha is the buddha for people born on a Tuesday (like me).
